“Mt. San Jacinto Community College District has 80 acres earmarked for the campus on Clinton Keith Road in southern Wildomar. For the young city to host a higher-education venue for thousands of students would be a dream come true for some.”
“It’s going to be good for our city and I know it’s going to be good for the kids around here” City Councilman, Tim Walker
“It’s identified in our master plan as a high-growth area in the district. We are intentionally siting our campuses in strategic areas that have good (transportation) access and provide closs access to high population centers.” Superintendent/President, Roger Schultz
“I think it would be a huge boost for our economy, our students and our college-going rates.” Board of Trustees President, Ann Motte
“The community college district, forged an agreement with Riverside County officials earlier this year to purchase the county-owned land for $2.5 million, pending a review of the site for any insurmountable environmental issues.
Blog:
The college is in process of completing an EIR (Environmental Impact Report) on this site. The plan of the board is to issue a letter of intent to the Chancellor Office referencing the site as a future campus and to complete a “needs study” to seek state approval of the site as campus “Center” which could take from 6 months to one year. FTES levels need to meet 500 FTES (full-time equivalent students) to become state approved. Once approved as a “Center”, the campus would qualify for $1 million dollars in operational funding every year and additional growth dollars in years when growth is provided from the state budget.
As Trustee, representing this area, I have worked very hard to acquire this site and I with your vote for re-election, I hope to be able to participate in the development of this new Technology/STEM campus to benefit our students and taxpayers.
I AM the experienced Trustee who understands the process and will work diligently to make this happen!
